Book Fair Time!

It's that time of year again...book fair time is upon us! You are welcome to visit the book fair with your little one after lunch (11:00-11:30) or before or after school. We also have "late night" tomorrow (Tuesday) night and early morning Thursday morning. Hope to see you there!

Last week happenings

Last week was so crazy I didn't have much time to post! Here are a few shots...

During "free choice" I looked over to the computers and saw this! WOW! For some reason it made me think of the stock exchange when everyone is gathered around monitors and yelling. So funny!

The weather last week could not have been more perfect for recess and practicing new things.

If you haven't heard of table tallies, ask your little one to explain it to you. Also, ask them what the winning table receives.

Ladybug update: the eggs turned from yellow to brown Friday. I thought they had possibly died?? Then this morning the eggs were white. I'm not sure what that means but we are still diligently watching the progress.

Happy Monday!

Ladybug Love

Yesterday at recess, there were an astonishing 17 ladybugs found (hello SPRING)! I had them put their little love-bugs in our "ladybug land" for some afternoon observations. When I came in this morning the ladybugs looked lethargic (to say the least) so I decided to set them free. Well...as I was going to wash out our small habitat I discovered a mama left us her EGGS!!!! Needless to say, K1 is on a mad larva watch.

Wyoming

Today we pretended to be paleontologists and took another "virtual field trip" to Wyoming. We worked really hard to uncover and put together some dinosaur bones. Ask your child what dinosaur we found and where we took the bones.

We are all excited to see REAL bones tomorrow on our real field trip... :)

Rooaaarrrr!!!

This week we are finishing up our study of Dinosaurs found in Texas! Thank you for letting your child bring in Dino books and toys from home. K1 has greatly appreciated playing and exploring. We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday for Open House (5-6) to share all our writings and drawings about the prehistoric creatures.

Want to help?

There are MANY ways to help support our PTO. Yesterday I had the pleasure of enjoying some YUMMY yogurt these two cuties after school! They had the winning bid on the "teacher outing." Another popular one was "teacher for the day." Another friend in K1 got to be "Miss Horton" for the day! If you missed the carnival or the silent auction look for them next year!

Honesty

This months citizenship quality is honesty. Today we read this wonderful book about a teeny tiny lie and how it made Ruthie feel. Afterwards, we wrote about a lie we've told :( or how a lie has made us feel. Ask your kindergartner about Ruthie's lie.
