Back in the groove...

I'm not going to lie, the first week back after two weeks off is always hard in Kindergarten! Here are some photos of us working around the room and exploring at recess.

While "listening to reading" this friend made a connection to what he was seeing on the computer to a book he had just checked out from the library. Sure enough-it was the Titanic!

Proof that kids are natural collaborators. EVERY YEAR my kids do this while they're on the computers. The picture doesn't show it BUT these sweeties are all trying to time the start of reading/listening to the same book (at the same time). They're giving well thought out reasons why the group should listen to the book of their liking and how to all press "start" at the same moment. Compromise is a beautiful thing...

Jump ropes?

Today was GORGEOUS!!! There was a jump rope left out on the playground and K1 did not hesitate to put it to good use! They were precious lining up and taking turns and counting for each other! We don't have jump ropes for the playground (just balls) so if you have one at home you would like to donate...we'll take it!! Or we could just barrow...

Just some other cute shots from recess...

Last week happenings

Last week was so crazy I didn't have much time to post! Here are a few shots...

During "free choice" I looked over to the computers and saw this! WOW! For some reason it made me think of the stock exchange when everyone is gathered around monitors and yelling. So funny!

The weather last week could not have been more perfect for recess and practicing new things.

If you haven't heard of table tallies, ask your little one to explain it to you. Also, ask them what the winning table receives.

Ladybug update: the eggs turned from yellow to brown Friday. I thought they had possibly died?? Then this morning the eggs were white. I'm not sure what that means but we are still diligently watching the progress.

Happy Monday!
