Honesty reflection

This month's citizenship quality is honesty (doing and saying what is right and true). After we read the story Ruthie and the Not so Teeny-Tiny Lie I invited the children to write about what honesty means to them or about a time they had to be honest. This might not be K1's VERY best writing (sounding out words, capitalization, punctuation, etc.) BUT their pictures were PRICELESS!! You have to pause on your child's writing and have them tell you about their picture. It reminded me how completely honest a Kindergarten can be :)

Caring

This months citizenship quality is caring. Yesterday we visited some sweet grand friends and had a great time showing them how much we cared about them. The grand friends LOVED the cards we made them and our joyful singing. They were so appreciative of "little" visitors. You should be very proud of your very caring Kindergartner.

Honesty

This months citizenship quality is honesty. Today we read this wonderful book about a teeny tiny lie and how it made Ruthie feel. Afterwards, we wrote about a lie we've told :( or how a lie has made us feel. Ask your kindergartner about Ruthie's lie.
