First Bus Ride

Riding on the big yellow limousine (as my dad would say) is no doubt one of their favorite parts of our trip!

Here we go! Did you notice anything in this picture that is different from when you rode in a bus growing up (aside from the seat belts)? That's right. AIR CONDITIONING. They will never know the hot school bus struggle.

And here's our ride home...always the sign of a great field trip :)

Flashlight reading for the WIN!

If you remember WAY back to curriculum night, I discussed how part of our literacy program is "shared reading" books. Well this weeks book is In a Dark, Dark Wood. Today we read the book all together using a flashlight (instead of my usual pointer) then THEY got to use a flashlight, too! They each took turns reading the book with their group and I couldn't believe how ENGAGED they were with their reading! 

Community Helpers- Police Officer

Our favorite community helper stopped by school today to teach us some very important things! They learned what to do if you need to call 911 (know your address), bicycle safety, "tricky" people, to always stay with an adult, Halloween safety and much more! 

 Future police officers? I hope so!
