We had way too much fun today in our PJ's!! We are still receiving some last minute donations and I can't WAIT to share the total number of donations. It warms my heart knowing we have one of the generous and caring school and families.

For all of you native Texans out there, you are probably familiar with Bluebonnet Book Awards. The Texas Library Association ALSO has a list of picture books, too! Our FAB librarian has ordered them for our school library and I wasted no time at all introducing them to K1! We read this book, Perfect Square and then created our own "square idea". I gave them each a square and (the surprisingly) tricky part was that they had to use the WHOLE square. Nothing could go to waste :) Check out their creative designs and the list of  Texas 2x2 List!

 

Frog Jump Letters

 

We love rocking out and learning about Frog Jump Letters! When we watch this video we also "sky write" our letters with them! ENJOY!

VoTe!!

Today we read one of my favorite books, Duck for President. It is quite funny and a great read.

 

 After we read the book we did a secret vote on who we predict will be the next president. I heard a new word too- "Obam-ney" :) Also, we learned how to sign the word "duck"...ask your kiddo to show you!

 

This was just a great Scholastic Reader about voting!

 

 Couldn't think of a more appropriate word of the week!
