Math Stations have no doubt become K1's favorite part of the day! During our first few weeks, the stations were more an exploratory time while they developed independence/routines with working, staying at their station, cleaning up, etc. Now we have grown to learning about number sense. A great question to ask your child each day is: What did you do at your math station today?

Looking for Chester the Racoon
I'm sure you've heard of our exciting search for Chester the Racoon! They had a blast following the clues he left us each day. The clues lead us to meet a special person at our school. Here are some pictures from our hunt.
Here they are trying to "sneak" up on him
There was a mad rush to check out this object on the floor that they thought had Chester "scratches" :)
More Chester scratches were discovered!
Meeting some new people at our school and learning about what they do at our school
Before the kids...
Ever wonder what my room looks like after the carpets, walls, floors have been cleaned? Well....here you go! This is how I'm greeted each August. It takes a solid day (or two) to arrange, rearrange, change at least 20 more times then FINALLY decide on what will be best! Did I mention I do this without air conditioning??
Meet the Teacher Night! The day's finally here to welcome 22 new faces to this room. If these walls could talk...they'd have a lot of funny stories!
