Journal time!
Today we started journaling! We brainstormed topics we can write about in our journals. We decided to write about our families. They did a beautiful job drawing, coloring and labeling their family.
Also today in Math we made this graph...I think this explains why K1 is so fun this year!!

September 12
Today we celebrated America and our freedom! (Can you think of a more perfect day??) We briefly touched on September 11th...I began by asking them what you all have explained to them about that day. We spent a lot of time focusing on our heroes in uniform (and those with without a uniform) and how we are so lucky to have our freedom. After making our AMAZING American flags we paraded around the school, to the flagpole, and then sang our "We are proud to live in America" song and recited our pledge of allegiance.

Catching up...
Sorry for the blog absenses...every second of my day has been filled to the brim! Here's a few things to catch you up on K1 happenings this week!
This week we started our Math Stations Rotations! One group was working on the geo-boards, another was using the pattern blocks to create pictures and the other was creating patterns with objects.
We have been building up our reading stamina! You should be so proud of your Kindergartner...we have built up to reading for a whole 7 minutes!!! This is quite a big Kinder accomplishment!
Last but not least...I finally was blessed with a new computer that doesn't crash every 5 minutes :) let the good times roll.

The Rules of the Classroom
Have your heard the rules of K1? If not...ask your child "what are 'the rules, the rules, the rules of the classroom'?" We sing a fabulous song called The Rules of the Classroom by the famous Dr. Jean. Check our her website http://drjean.org/
