100 Days of K1

It's hard to believe we've already had 100 days of Kindergarten! We had a fun day of all things 100

We tossed a penny 100 times!

Then we read this funny story about Wolf trying to fatten up Hen. Ask you child what foods he made for her.

Then when we came back in from specials there were 100 chicks (from the book) hiding in our room! 

 Chaos ensued...

The Year of the Dragon

We had a great day celebrating Chinese New Year! Our 2nd grade friends put on a parade and we brought our dragon puppets. THEN we were all surprised with special red envelopes!

Prime Time

Have you heard that phrase yet at your house?? Last week we started our club time called "Prime Time"! Every Friday morning they get to spend time learning more about the subject of their choice (science, math or writing). Today in my science club we learned about winter AND made snow. Ask you child which club they are in, who their teacher is and what they learned today!

Penguins and Polar Bears...

Do not live on the same continent! Something K1 learned yesterday during out Virtual Field Trip! We learned that polar bears live in the Arctic and penguins live in Antarctica! We also learned some big words like biome (a place animals live), tundra (cold desert) and permafrost (always icy). Ask your child if they can tell you what color polar bears skin is...

Favorite kid quote from the lesson: "I KNOW THE NAME OF THAT PENGUIN!!!!! It's a cheese penguin. (*deep thought) Oh, wait. I think it's....a macaroni penguin?

Last week we studied magnets! They had a lot of fun exploring the room to discover all the things that are magnetic. Ask your child what something has to have in order to be magnetic...
